Blair Barnhardt formed The Barnhardt Group in 2009.  Prior to this endeavor, he was the Vice President of an Atlanta Based Asphalt Paving and Reclamation firm.  Blair has been involved with Heavy Civil Construction, Aggregates, Ready mixed Concrete, Asphalt and Road Building for 30 years, with the latter 13 years specifically involved in asphalt roadway rehabilitation, pavement preservation and base stabilization.  A graduate of Civil Engineering from Mohawk College, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, he also served as a Professor at Mohawk in the Continuing Education Civil Department.

Blair’s years of experience with foamed asphalt recycling in Canada has provided a solid platform for development of the use of this technology in the Southeastern United States.  For the last ten years he has worked with Building Contractors, Property Managers, Home Owners Associations, Owners, Consulting Engineers, Municipal Engineers, FWHA, LTAP and DOT staff to educate, develop specifications, bid documents and promote the use of pavement preservation, asphalt reclamation & stabilization technologies in the Southeast.  His firm specializes in working with Cities, Counties, and Home Owners Associations to provide 20 year infrastructure life-cycle planning using MicroPAVER software.

In addition to working with a handful of retained industry clients with his own firm, Blair works as an NHI Certified Instructor for the award winning firm Applied Pavement Technology (AP Tech) to teach National Highway Institute (NHI) FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) Asphalt Pavement Recycling Technologies and Pavement Preservation courses across America.  Over the last several years, he has delivered the Asphalt Recycling workshop to visiting Korean Engineering Delegates at NHI Headquarters, FHWA Central staff in Denver, Colorado, Maine DOT, Alaska DOT, Iowa DOT, Arizona DOT, Arkansas DOT and Georgia DOT to name a few.

Blair has also served on the Board of Directors with ARRA, and was the CORE (Committee on Asphalt Recycling Education) Chairman for several years.  He is a published author in most every industry magazine including World Highways and Asphalt Contractor.  Blair and his wife Joy live in Kennesaw, GA a suburb of Atlanta.  Their children have attended UGA and Kennesaw State University.
